Discretion in private ownership

Company notes — January 2026

Note 03

Privacy is not secrecy. This note explains what discretion means for a holding company — and what we refuse to let it become.

Secrecy is the concealment of obligations; privacy is the decline of publicity. Wealth Point hides nothing it owes: the company is registered, its registered office is published, and its categories of holdings are described openly on this website. What it declines is the marketing of holdings and the publication of specifics.

Discretion is an operating condition rather than a preference. Without an audience, decisions are made on their merits; without published specifics, the assets attract less unsolicited attention. It also protects the people around the holdings, whose privacy is not ours to spend.

The rule we hold to is simple: private about specifics, plain about everything structural. What the company is, what it holds by category, and the standards it holds assets to are published. What an individual asset is, where it sits and what it is worth are not.

Next in this series.

The quiet cost of churn — what constant motion really charges its owners.
